Session 42

Recap

Used the Horary with Brine and Yassandra's help to travel to the Evermaze. Confusing there in terms of space and time, and were being watched by Baba Yaga throughout. Met Priscilla Porcelaina and Mincius, the latter of which had the Crown of the Trickster. He helped us find Baba Yaga's cottage, and we saw Rosemary, looking older. Were attacked by The Jabberwocky, but narrowly managed to defeat it.

Head into Baba Yaga's house.

Ivy headed straight in at the offer of tea, forcing others to join her there - pissed because her daughter is inside.

A new character, little halfling (Taubera), came to the door soaked from the rain - she has apparently been sent to find the Katheryn’s Angels. In house:

cracked mirrors.
large bubbling cast iron cauldrons
clearly a hoarder's house

Baba Yaga cast a spell to drag us into the house with wind, though Fin managed to resist and seemed really cool, scaring her. While she is distracted, Ellywick puts laxative in the tea (and Baba Yaga drinks it!).

Taubera tried to cast charmed person on Baba Yaga, but she uses a legendary resistance to stop it

START COMBAT

We attempt to fight but Baba Yaga reveals that Rosemary is in an oven, and that if she is distracted, the flames will burn her alive. Ivy tries to punch the glass to break it but it appears to have no effect.

Baba Yaga uses her legendary action and causes Taubera to lose her eyes.

Gilbert is killed straight away, I didn't heal him yet

Beet (the babe) misty steps into the oven to save Rosemary, but turns out it was a fucking illusion the whole time.

Beet cast dispel magic - stopped the cottage illusion and the whole thing looks like we're inside a dead body - rotting flesh and bones
Can now see the real Rosemary under the table

Ivy tried to KO BY, but didn't manage, and she only took half damage - she must have resistance

Fin said a dad joke (1st step to take down BY as found out in Session 39) - Baba Yaga took 52 damage, and flies came out of the wounds

Sean: (sarcastic voice) "I would never hit a kid"

Ellywick killed Rosemary by accident in an AOE spell
Ivy siphons energy from BY to heal Rosemary

I think (?) Ellywick stabs Baba Yaga with the unicorn horn (2nd stage of killing her)

Took her down to 0 HP - Baba Yaga is dead
Rosemary falls unconscious
There is a broken anklet on with runes written on

Summary

The party headed into Baba Yaga's house, and almost immediately got into combat. It appeared she had put Rosemary in an oven, but this turned out to be an illusion. Found the real Rosemary under the table, and she was helping Baba Yaga out against us. We eventually managed to defeat her using the 3 step method, not without knocking out Rosemary and killing Gilbert in the process. Baba Yaga's body disappeared.
