Session 34 - 13.8.2025

Beet has shit all over the floor, has extreme swamp fever.

Ellywick sends Ivy a mental message (using magical stone), to come to them in the Loomlurch as I'm in a nearby market (after 2 sessions of swamp fever), and instructs where the Portrait of Yass must be.

Ivy encounters a face on the tree Vraeleth of the Threshold:

• says she is "too bland with no colour" so can't pass
• Ivy rubs beetroot powder on face for colour and does a bad job
• HOWEVER, manages to have enough swagger to pass through
• (Vraeleth of the Threshold says she "desperately needs treatment")

Ivy heads to 1st floor

• room of shelves
• cracked mirror at end of room
• to get through mirror have to speak a lie - Ivy says "I trust Yassandra"

Ivy travels through the mirror:

• no light
• can see shapes on the walls - paintings?
• thick coils around the room - bramble vines with dagger thorns, dangerous
• casts light on necklace - can see bookshelves with scrolls, as well as paintings

4 portraits:

Ivy stole the Portrait of Yass, and narrowly avoided being sucked into the painting by the anti stealing trap. She sneaks back to try and join the dinner, with the portrait hidden under her cloak.

Fin and Ellywick are at dinner with Yassandra and Urunazeph

• she says "Scars in the air in our home world"
• Urunazeph is covered in faces?
• Fin passes all CON checks and enjoys the dinner, but Ellywick hates it!
• Fin, Ellywick and Yassandra bond over being youngest siblings (though Yassandra is a middle child)

Fin has 10 older siblings including: Donal, Conal, Tonal (brothers), Garty, Stuty and Chesty (sisters). Some have children, making Fin an aunt.

Ellywick snuck out of the room while Yassandra was talking to Fin about her family - Portrait of Yass is now in the bag of holding

Yassandra took us through the portal in the mirror:

• Ivy went through first to plant evidence that Brine had stolen the portrait
• Fin came through next to help
• Think Yassandra fell for it that Brine had stolen the Portrait of Yass

Fin read Yassandra to filth but in a kind and insightful way:
While complaining that her missing portrait was worse than missing a child, Fin stepped forward and berated Yassandra - reaching past the walls she had put up to appear perfect, and a single tear shed from her eye.

• Yassandra apologised and thanked Fin

Yassandra left and we looted the vault:

• see an Elf smoking outside a colourful house

Summary

While Beet was shitting herself with swamp fever, Ivy carried out a heist for the Portrait of Yass with the help of Ellywick and Fin, framing Brine for the robbery. Fin gave Yassandra a telling off when she said the loss of her portrait was worse than the loss of her child, and this genuinely got to Yassandra and caused her to self reflect.

• a deal was struck, in return for trying to rescue her child (who had been turned into a harp) and stop auntie from sending children into her realm, yassandra would return beets soul and enhance your weapons upon completion ✨
• you all returned to the vault, where the portal to aunties realm, the candlegore teeth 🖼️
• you entered before yassandra and put down evidence that the portrait was stolen by brine 🌊
• you decieved yassandra successfully  🥇
• while complaining that her missing portrait was worse than missing a child, fin stepped forward and berated yassandra- reaching past the walls she had put up to appear perfect, and a single tear shed from her eye. 💧
• yassandra apologised, thanks to fins insightful words- and she left with a lot to think about. 🏃‍♀️
• kathryn's angels looted her vault, took some books and scrolls and left the compendium of magical cheese, and some pipeweed in return 🥬
• the party activated the magic painting/portal and were teleported to the next realm, one step closer to baba yagas domain where rosemary is kept. 🍭
• ⁠by working well as a team to pass through the realm, and by getting through to yassandra on an emotional level, you levelled up
