Session 39 - 9.11.25

Middle corridor - there is a pulsing blue light (perhaps a portal?)
Right corridor - smells of roses, goes to Primadonna Tower (where Ivy was on the balcony with Aunty)

Baby says "Je suis Bebé" (hence why we later call it Je Je Maman Bebe) and appears to have no name

Beet is amazing at looking after the baby - feeds it spider pudding

We all have a short rest as we are expecting another combat (potentially?) with Aunty if our Dr Len plan doesn't work out

Mountains start melting - can hear an avalanche - must be Aunty angry and upset?

• head up to the Primadonna Tower (right corridor) (want to get loot before fighting her)

Spilled perfume and waxy liquid on the floor

Ellywick finds a painting of herself on the wall

• painting screams and shatters
• is of the clone?

Paintings are all of inhabitants, but are all melting

Up the staircase:

• vanity desk
• grand opera booth (where Aunty and Ivy were when they were watching the display in the Session 37)
• large bed
• music box (playing a song different to the harp baby) - white crystals power it - has ballerina (can't recognise, but did roll low) - Beet casts dispel magic, but don't see much happen

Find chest underneath the bed:

• Ellywick diffuses the trap
• Box inside "The fucks I have left to give" (is empty)
  • We fill this up with: pictures of sisters, fake business card for family therapist
    • (Family Feud style setup - hire the porn crew? )
    • invite the sisters
    • Fin as the therapist Dr Len
    • Ellywick as host

Other objects in the box:

1. Feather boa - owl bear inside, lots of spells cast already (not sure what this means??)
2. Massive makeup palette - has arcane residue
3. Long silver fan - "applause is the only prayer worth saying"
4. Corked glass bottle - has lightning in

Ellywick sets off the trap in the wardrobe - a saw blade nearly gets her, but Fin helps with a great dex save

Cupboard pulls out to reveal:

1. White fluffy domed sponge - powder puff with glitter
2. Vial of (whole) fingernails - have arcane runes on, illusion enchantment (can attach to own nails for lock picking purposes - Adv in Fey Wild)
3. Wig pins - small jewels, expensive
4. Broken tiara (in 2) - not magic, Ellywick took
5. Sack - crossbody, has a face (turns out to be Professor Pouch)
   • made of patched leather, with button eyes and blue fabric
6. Green jar (Brine's Pickling Jar) - silver light in

Professor Pouch

• history buff
• encyclopaedic knowledge of gossip
• doesn't like Aunty
• 700 years ago turned into a bag by the Lady of the Lighthouse
• he says: breaking Brine's Pickling Jar will be breaking her phylactery - allows us to defeat Brine
• can defeat Aunty with magic - she is vain so prey on that
• Portrait of Yass is Yassandra's phylactery so can break that to kill her

• Beet finds an elaborate diamond encrusted necklace
• Ellywick finds a red tome with gold filigree - 'spellbook'
• Ivy finds HIS DIARY and unlocks:
  • 1st page - about how Madame Holbrand fell for Professor Action
  • Last page - about peeling off Madame Holbrand's skin

Aunty has pickled fairies in Brine's Pickling Jar (ugh)

Beet now feels her soul return (didn't know at the time, but must have been Aunty's death)

Came up with Fin's Dr Len disguise - moustache + wig

Can watch through Pumpernickel as the bat, and see inside the room full of machines that Aunty is in

• 4 brass conducting pillars for lightning
• symbols for different planes + constellations on floor
• purple/black tissue around 1 pillar - maybe mind flayer related?
• none of Aunty's theatrical touch
• room full of flies

Aunty is on the floor by a pillar - SHE IS DEAD, HER BRAIN IS MISSING!!!

Enter the room to see, and meet brain creatures

COMBAT STARTS

"The plains have aligned" - said that Aunty had concealed the truth of the Evermaze
2 intellect devourers, and a [NPCs/Archived/Chlorophallyus|Cephallopussy] arrived through a portal
Ivy and Ellywick nearly die

Portal opens again in the fleshy matter around a metal pillar, and a giant beaked creature emerges.

We manage to defeat all of them, and in the last second Ivy calls for Yassandra

As she defeats the tentacle creature, Ellywick sees a memory - a Minotaur with a tiara being chased by brains in the Evermaze

• as of Session 41 we now know this is Mincius with Crown of the Trickster

Summary

We name the baby Je Je Maman Bebe, and make a plan to reunite the sisters by creating a tv show and posing Fin as Dr Len and giving them therapy. We go to the Primadonna tower before reuniting with Aunty, and find Professor Pouch and some other useful items, as well as a painting of the Ellywick clone. We head to enact out plan, and find that Aunty is dead, and has had her brain removed by the brain creatures and we get into combat.
